 This Council was not asked to consult on this application, hence the delay in commenting. However, it was discussed at a Planning Meeting on the 7th January and Councillors support this application assuming there is a consequential reduction of night time lorry movement given the removal of the asphalt plant from the Westleigh Quarry to Broadpath. This reduction will greatly benefit the village and especially traffic passing the school and reduce the amount of traffic on the Whipcott road (part of the circuit the lorries make in our Parish) which is permanently potholed due to the high volume of lorries.

Our Council considered this application at its meeting on 25th January. Our Council remains of the opinion that, for the reasons explained in our letter to your Council  dated 3rd February 2014 this should remain a temporary planning permission that is personal to the applicant. Our Council has no objection to the applicant living at Oak Meadow so long as she wishes to do so (with her children in so far as they continue to reside with her) but the Council does not want this site subsequently to become available to others. Our Council are concerned that the suggested changes to planning permission 14/01284/FULL will mean that the ability of your Council, in planning terms, subsequently to control future occupation will be prejudiced. This site is not in a sustainable location and nothing should be done to allow the use to become a permanent one.

Our Council has no objection in principle to the erection of an additional workshop/store at Waytown. There is some concern however about the suggested materials for the external elevations -ie green plastic coated profiled sheeting. This seems more appropriate to a commercial setting than an ancillary residential building. The other outbuildings are in timber and are quite attractive.  Perhaps your Council could consider this issue. We have assumed that the workshop/store will be used only by the residents of Waytown.
